We're hiring

Communications & Events Manager

24–40 hours per week · Ecosystem Services · The Netherlands

Do you want to work where technology, innovation, events and communities meet? Do you enjoy taking marketing and communications to the next level, and are you a natural organiser who likes to roll up your sleeves? Then we'd love to hear from you.

Ecosystem Services brings together companies, governments, knowledge institutions and innovators around the latest technological and societal developments. We build communities, develop new collaborations and organise programmes and events in the Netherlands and abroad.

We do this through NL@MWC, our Dutch community around Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, PRIMMA, which focuses on private 4G/5G networks and smart logistics, and a range of other projects and ecosystems.

For these activities, we are looking for someone who will further professionalise and run our marketing and communications, and help organise our events.

What you'll do

As Communications & Events Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day marketing and communications of Ecosystem Services and our projects and communities. This includes:

  • Creating and managing the content calendar.
  • Actively gathering information from colleagues, partners and participants, and turning it into relevant content.
  • Coming up with and creating content such as LinkedIn posts, interviews, news items, articles, newsletters and event reports for Ecosystem Services, NL@MWC, PRIMMA and other projects.
  • Maintaining and updating the website.
  • Running the communications around events, from Eventbrite pages, registrations, invitations and reminders to content during and after the event.
  • Spotting and seizing content opportunities at events, such as photos, quotes, interviews, highlights and stories.
  • Coming up with new ways to grow our communities and increase our visibility.

The role is primarily focused on marketing and communications. We are a small, entrepreneurial and hands-on team. We work closely together and help each other out where needed, so now and then you may pick up something outside your usual tasks. That works both ways: you can count on the commitment and support of your colleagues when you need it. Alongside your marketing and communications work, you will therefore also contribute to our events, for example:

  • Planning and preparing events, from communications to supporting the practical organisation.
  • Drafting and sending invitations, and managing registrations and attendee lists.
  • Lending a hand during events, such as welcoming guests, setting up materials and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who takes initiative and turns ideas into action.

  • You see what needs to be done, think ahead and make sure things are arranged on time. For example, by independently drawing up a communications plan for an event, gathering the information you need and getting the content ready.
  • You keep the overview, bring structure and feel at home in an entrepreneurial environment with room for your own ideas and improvements.
  • You write excellently in Dutch and English, have a feel for B2B communication and LinkedIn, and know how to turn complex topics into accessible content.
  • Experience in marketing, communications, technology or events is a plus. Above all, we value curiosity, initiative and the drive to grow together with us.

What we offer

At Ecosystem Services you work on several projects at once, meet interesting companies, governments, entrepreneurs and innovators, and are regularly involved in events and international activities. We offer:

  • A role of 24 to 40 hours per week.
  • Plenty of independence and responsibility.
  • Flexibility in how and where you work.
  • A small, committed team with short lines of communication.
  • Lots of room for your own ideas and initiative.
  • A varied mix of Dutch and international projects.
  • The opportunity to grow with Ecosystem Services and our communities.
